And that's a wrap!

Last month, Alberta Children's Hospital Hosted PIRN's 5th Annual Meeting in Calgary! Together, with patient partners, clinicians, and clinical researchers, we shared experiences, exchanged knowledge, and brainstormed new ideas to support health equity through research in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. A huge thank you to all of our amazing speakers, including Rae Martens, Dr. Bukola Salami, Dr. Amy Shawanda, Dr. Susan Samuel, Dr. Katie Birnie, Dr. Lesley Pritchard, Dr. Suzette Cooke and our trainees and fellows. We heard loud and clear that more in-person interactions like these are needed and welcomed and we look forward to doing it all again next year in Montreal! Here are a few photos of our very lively meeting and dinner.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We would like to acknowledge the land on which SickKids operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, Toronto is home to Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. SickKids is committed to working toward new relationships that include First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and is grateful for the opportunity to share this land in caring for children and their families.
